AUSTIN MANCHESTER IS A FINE ARTIST CURRENTLY LIVING IN the south of france and South Carolina. HIS OIL PAINTINGS HAVE BEEN EXHIBITED IN AMERICA AND EUROPE. THIS SITE IS AN INTRODUCTION TO HIS WORK.


Artist statement

As the material world is in a constant state of transformation I seek to capture the essence or spirit of life which transcends time and culture to touch our deeper selves.

My process is one of adding and removing layers of color until the paint resonates with life and ultimately a raw sense of our existential beings.

Through this process, sounds, shapes and colors from the natural world emerge and reorient themselves – yellow waves, blue palms, pink clouds.

The natural world is integral and essential to my method of working.
